Summers in Dublin are PERFECT for spending time outside. It’s not too hot and not too cold, all you need is a light jacket. 🙂 If you have a nice sunny day and some friends, my favorite place to sit outside and have a bite is at the Eatyard.
The Eatyard is the side yard of the Bernard Shaw pub. Aspiring restaurant owners set up pop-up shops, similar to food trucks, and give their product ideas a try!! You get all sorts of unique and amazing food along with ice cold drinks and communal tables to meet all sorts of other people.
The vendors regularly rotate so every time you go, you’ll have a different FOODIE experience!
Where
The Eatyard is connected to the Bernard Shaw on Richmond Street. You can get in from the main Eatyard entrance, or through a graffiti covered hall from with in the Bernard Shaw.
Food
- Handsome Burger: They have a permanent location in Galway and put the pop-up into Eatyard for 2019. Hopefully they stay popular enough to come back next year.
- Arepas Grill: These guys have delicious authentic Venezuelan food! I had an Arepa with pork, beans, and plantains!
- Sweet Churro: If you have a sweet tooth, the Churros are the BEST (especially when covered in Nutella)
- The Bubble Waffle Factory and Kale + Coco both started here! They were so popular, they now have their own shops.
Price
Everything is pretty much between 5-10 Euro depending on what you are getting. Add a beer and you walk out with a meal less than 20 euro.
Groups
This is a great spot for groups, especially for groups who have all kinds of different eaters. There are options for the adventurous, the health conscious, the pescatarian, and the one with the sweet tooth.
